The US stock market ended Friday's trading lower on the back of negative dynamics from the oil and gas, commodities and technology sectors.

At closing time on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones fell 1.34%, the S&P 500 fell 2.37% and the Nasdaq Composite fell 3.08%.

Shares of JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) gained 1.82p (1.66%) to close at 111.19. UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) gained 3.22p (0.63%) to close at 513.13. Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) gained 0.75p (0.57%) to close at 133.15.

Shares of American Express (NYSE: AXP), fell 4.74p (3.35%) to close the session at 136.81. Shares of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) climbed 4.59p (3.21%) to close at 138.40, while Chevron (NYSE: CVX) dropped 5.14p (3.11%) to close at 160.14.

U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB) shares gained 3.36% to 42.76, Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) which gained 2.30% to close at 31.08, Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) shares gained 1.86% to close the session at 43.17.

First Republic Bank (NYSE: FRC) shares were down 16.45% to close at 112.57. Shares of The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS) lost 9.88% to close the session at 46.86.

It is worth noting that FedNat Holding (NASDAQ: FNHC) shares gained 48.02% to close at 0.52.

Also, on the NYSE, the number of securities that declined (2,506) exceeded the number that closed on the plus side (579), while the quotation of 85 shares remained almost unchanged. On the Nasdaq, 2,720 companies fell in price, 1,005 rose and 229 remained flat at the previous close.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is derived from options trading on the S&P 500, rose 0.25% to 32.02.

Gold futures for December delivery lost 1.67%, or 28.05, to $1.00 per troy ounce.

November WTI crude futures prices fell 3.75%, or 3.34, to $85.77 a barrel. Brent crude futures for December delivery fell 2.93%, or 2.77, to $91.80 a barrel.

The USD index futures rose 0.82% to 113.18.
