On Tuesday 8 December, Apple has shown wireless headphones that will include a noise-canceling feature in the earpiece, and this accessory has the highest sound quality, but the cost of the headphones is 549 dollars.

Apple (AAPL) on Tuesday announced its latest new product for 2020, the AirPods Max wireless headphones with active noise reduction. Sales of the new products have already started, but their delivery will start on 15 December. The new AirPods Max will rank first among all AirPods in terms of cost. They will cost $549, compared to $249 for AirPods Pro and $159 for entry-level AirPods.

The new features include a stainless steel and aluminium case (which distinguishes these headphones from all competitors with a plastic case), a knitted fabric mesh for breathability, foam ear cushions with memory effect, and a special baffle design that distributes weight, reduces head pressure and ensures a perfect fit.

AirPods Max has control buttons similar to those on Apple Watch: to accept or reject a call, adjust the volume, switch the playlist and switch from noise reduction to 'transparency mode' to listen to music and the environment around you at the same time. The new headphones have Siri support and Apple promises around 20 hours of battery life.

New accessory is available in 5 colours, have an adaptive sound equaliser for sound adjustment, a spatial sound function that tracks the movement of the user's head and a premium sound (distortion of less than 1% in the entire audible range), which is adjusted by two Apple H1 chips.

AirPods Max also comes with a carrying case with magnets, in which they go into ultra-low power mode.

Given the relatively high price of $549 compared to other brands, including Apple's Beats brand (the average price of this category of headphones is around $350), market analysts find it difficult to make sales forecasts for AirPods Max.

Moreover, the new product requires new software in Apple devices, which may limit the audience of potential customers.

The "wearable" category of Apple products showed the largest growth in sales this year.
