Artificial intelligence becomes popular
An American chatbot based on artificial intelligence, ChatGPT, has set a record for the highest number of downloads by users. This was reported by Reuters, citing research by Swiss financial holding company UBS Group.
"We cannot recall a faster growth of an internet application in twenty years," USB Group analysts said.
The holding estimates that the number of users has reached 100 million in two months, with around 13 million people using the app daily.
According to Sensor Tower, Chinese social network TikTok took about nine months to reach such figures, while Instagram took 2.5 years.
In November 2022, US-based machine learning technology company OpenAI launched a chatbot that can generate texts, answer questions and write code.
It was also previously reported that the chatbot successfully passed the University of Minnesota's four-course law exam and the business management exam at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as preparing a resolution for the US Congress.
It is worth noting that on Thursday, OpenAI announced a $20 monthly subscription, initially only for users in the United States. According to the company, this will provide a more stable and faster service, as well as the opportunity to try new features first.
The company said revenue from the subscription would help cover computing costs.
The availability of the tool has raised questions about the promotion of academic malpractice and misinformation.
