The post drew admiration from Davis’ ‘The Help’ co-star, Octavia Spencer, who commented, “She’s as tall as you. Other fans also expressed their love for the sweet snapshot. One fan wrote, “Two beauties right there!! Genesis has so much to look forward to these high school years. And you’ll always be her bestie!! Another chimed in, “She is beautiful. You are so blessed.” ABC broadcaster Deborah Roberts also commented, “Genesis. So grown up. So beautiful!”
In a 2018 Us Weekly interview, Viola Davis shared her motherhood insights. She wants her daughter to value herself, learn from mistakes, and understand that beauty isn’t about appearance.
Davis confessed that she often feels guilty when she has to leave Genesis to film on a set. However, she has learned to forgive herself. “I forgive myself,” Davis said. “I forgive myself daily.”
Davis said: "I always wanted a child but acting is a very self-focused profession. We’re late getting married, late having children, all of a sudden you stop for five minutes and think, ‘What have I been missing?’”
“Motherhood has humbled her,” she conveyed. “With one child, she feels like she’s in a daily survival battle. Despite moments of feeling like a failure, she also experiences a sense of triumph, embodying the complexities of parenthood.”
