Friday trading

The U.S. stock market ended Friday's trading with a decline amid negative dynamics from the sectors of technology, consumer services and consumer goods.

By the closing time on the New York Stock Exchange Dow Jones fell by 2.11%, S&P 500 index fell by 2.80%, Nasdaq Composite index fell by 3.80%.

The top gainers among Dow Jones index components in today's trading were shares of Merck and Company Inc (NYSE: MRK), which gained 0.16p (0.18%) to close at 87.60. McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) was down 1.56p (0.66 percent) to close at 233.19. Caterpillar Inc (NYSE: CAT) shed 1.26p (0.70%) to close at 177.55.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) was the biggest loser, having shed 1.46p (5.37%) to close the session at 25.72. Shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ: WBA) gained 1.73p (5.36%) to close at 30.52 and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) shed 12.55p (5.09%) to close the trading at 234.24.

The gainers among S&P 500 index components in today's trading were DexCom Inc (NASDAQ: DXCM) which gained 7.28% to 102.14, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) which gained 2.24% to close at 496.09 and Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) which gained 2.01% to close the session at 30.41.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) (NASDAQ: AMD) shares were the fallers, dropping 13.87% to close at 58.44. Shares of CVS Health Corp (NYSE :CVS) lost 10.48% to end the session at 88.25. Generac Holdings Inc (NYSE: GNRC) was down 8.55% to 154.26.

The top gainers among Nasdaq Composite index components in today's trading were shares of Minim Inc (NASDAQ:MINM), which rose 50.94% to end the session at 0.32.

On the NYSE, 2,644 shares fell more than 442 gained, while 106 remained almost flat. On Nasdaq, 3,077 stocks were down, 638 were up, and 210 remained flat.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on the S&P 500 options trade, rose 2.75% to 31.36.
