Schedule of events
US stock indexes rose on Friday, breaking a multi-week losing streak after a series upbeat corporate reports temporarily offsetting fears of a sharp economic slowdown.
The S&P 500 jumped by the close, adding 2.5% to close at 4158.27 points. The index broke its best week since November 2020, rising more than 6.5% in five trading days. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 576 points, or 1.8%, to 33,213.55 points on Friday, while the Nasdaq Composite added more than 3%.
However, the coming week will also see reports from companies with financial results.
Monday
On Monday there are expected to be reports from companies such as: Allied Esports Entertainment, Basic Energy Services, Republic First Bancorp, CIRCOR International, Legacy Housing, Graham Corporation, Viking Energy Group, Lifeway Foods and many more.
Tuesday
Reports from: CPI Aerostructures, Armstrong Flooring, Ambarella, Bristow Group, Kaleido Biosciences, ChargePoint, Cansortium and many more.
Economic data:
- S&P Case-Shiller national home price index (March);
- FHFA national home price index (March);
- Consumer confidence index (May).
Wednesday
On Wednesday, the following companies will release their reports: American Superconductor, Capri Holdings, Donaldson Company, Phillips-Van Heusen, Conn's Inc., Chewy Inc., GameStop, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Semtech, Hovnanian Enterprises and others.
Also, the S&P Global U.S. manufacturing PMI, ISM manufacturing index, Motor vehicle sales (SAAR) for May and Job openings, Quits, Construction spending for April will be known on Wednesday.
Thursday
Expected reports from: Asana, Quanex Building Products, Designer Brands, Calavo Growers, IDT Corporation, Hormel Foods, SpartanNash, Ciena, Crowdstrike, Tilly's Inc., PagerDuty, Phreesia, Okta Inc. and others.
Also, ADP employment report, Initial jobless claims, Continuing jobless claims for May. Productivity revision (SAAR) and Unit labor costs revision (SAAR) for Q1. Factory orders and Core capital goods orders revision for April.
Friday
As for the economic data on Friday, it is expected:
- Non-farm payrolls (May);
- Unemployment rate (May);
- Average hourly earnings (May);
- Labor-force participation, ages 25-54 (May);
- S&P Global U.S. services PMI (May);
- ISM services index (May).
