New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday
The US stock market ended Tuesday's trading with gains in the oil and gas, telecoms and commodities sectors.
At the close on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones was up 0.20 per cent, the S&P 500 was up 0.48 per cent and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.22 per cent.
In yesterday's trading, shares of such companies rose: Boeing (NYSE: BA) +3.34%, JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) +2.14%, Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) +2.03%, Catalent (NYSE: CTLT) +10. 91%, New York Mortgage Trust (NASDAQ: NYMT) +4.67%, Laredo Petroleum (NYSE: LPI) +4.81%, Enova International (NYSE: ENVA) +1.79%, First Busey (NASDAQ: BUSE) +1.59%, Repay Holdings (NASDAQ: RPAY) +1.61%.

However, on NYSE, the number of securities that went up (2,115) exceeded the number that closed in the red (1,066), while 143 stocks were almost flat. On NASDAQ, 2,083 companies gained, 1,694 declined and 270 remained flat at the previous close.
The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on options trading on the S&P 500, fell 9.55% to 29.25.
