After the close of trading

The New York Stock Exchange closed Monday with gains in key indices on the back of stronger shares in the technology sector.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 103.61 points (0.3 per cent) to 34,921.88.

The S&P 500 index added 36.78 points (0.81%) to rise to 4,582.64 points.

The Nasdaq electronic exchange index gained 271.05 points (1.9%) to rise to 14,532.55 points.

Twitter gained 27%, Netflix gained 4.8% and Alphabet gained 2.1%.

Also, shares of Terex (NYSE: TEX) closed on the upside at $35.51. The company had a high of $35.66 and a low of $34.63 per share.

Fastly (NYSE: FSLY) shares closed at USD 19.35, adding 3.42%. The company had a maximum price per share of US$19.63 and the minimum was US$18.76.

Kadant (NYSE: KAI) shares closed at $199.25, adding 1.73%. The company had a maximum price per share of $200.17 and the minimum was $193.34.
