US exchanges open up 0.4-0.5% higher in major indices

Stock market on Wednesday

Key indices on the New York Stock Exchange rose by 0.4-0.5% at the beginning of Wednesday's trading session, showing positive dynamics for the first time in a week amid the situation around Ukraine.

According to data posted on the trading site's website, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.58 per cent in the first minutes of trading. The S&P 500 index was down 0.54%. The Nasdaq electronic exchange index was down 0.45%.

Oil prices topped $112 a barrel before declining as Russian troops intensified attacks on Ukrainian cities and when OPEC agreed to modest production adjustments.

Investors are now trying to navigate the impact the new sanctions will have by closely monitoring energy prices, according to experts. WTI crude futures rose 6.13% to $109.73 a barrel on Wednesday morning.

Shares of some companies now

Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE) shares opened at $471.94. However, the company's shares closed at $466.68 in yesterday's trading. At the time of writing at 10:50 a.m. ET, the price per share is US$470.21.

American Electric Power (NASDAQ: AEP) shares opened at US$89.90. AEP shares closed at US$90.21 in yesterday's trading. At the time of writing at 10:50 a.m. ET, the value per share is $90.56.

Shares in Automatic Data Processing (NASDAQ: ADP) opened at USD 202.95. ADP shares closed at US$202.31 in yesterday's trading. At the time of writing at 10:50 a.m. ET, the value per share is US$90.56.

Shares in Cadence Design Systems (NASDAQ: CDNS) opened at $152.02. CDS shares closed at US$150.53 in yesterday's trading. At the time of writing at 10:50 a.m. ET, the value per share is US$152.64.
