Electric cars from Nio, Li Auto and XPeng
Shares in Li Auto XPeng and Nio, China's electric car makers, rose at the pre-market on Wednesday after posting record deliveries in November. XPeng outperformed its rivals in terms of sales with deliveries to customers in November.
Nio (NIO) shares, down 19.7% YTD and down 3.3% on Tuesday, were up 3.3% on Wednesday before trading opened.
Li Auto (LI) shares, up 23% since the start of 2021 and 45.6% in the last six months, rose 5% in pre-market.
XPeng (XPEV) shares, up 28.4% since the start of 2021 and 57% in the last 6 months, rose 2.8% on the pre-market.
Nio shipments in November
Nio has delighted its investors with a recovery in November deliveries from the steep fall in October.
NIO delivered 10,878 electric vehicles, up 105.6% from the same period last year and 197% from 3,667 in October. Deliveries included:
- 2,683 units of Nio ES8
- 6-seater or 7-seater SUVs 4,713 units of Nio
- ES6 5-seater SUVs 3,482 units of NIO
- EC6 5-seater coupe SUVs According to the press release, NIO has delivered a total of 80,940 vehicles in 2021 YTD, up 120.4% year-on-year.
Li Auto deliveries in November
Li Auto in November delivered 13,485 units of its only Li ONE electric SUV, up 190.2% year-on-year and 76.3% from 7,649 Li ONEs sold to customers in October. By comparison, deliveries in September amounted to 7,094 Li ONE units.
Total shipments for the eleven months ended 30 November 2021 reached 76,404, bringing the cumulative shipments to 110,001. Co-founder and president of Li Auto said that with a new monthly record of over 13,000 Li ONE deliveries in November, the model became "the first domestic branded premium model worth over 300,000 yuan (over $47,000) in China to reach the milestone of 10,000 monthly deliveries". As of 30 November 2021, Li Auto had 174 retail shops in 93 cities and 236 service centres in 171 cities.
XPeng outperformed its rivals in electric car deliveries in November
XPeng delivered 15 613 electric vehicles in November, up 270% year-on-year and 54% from 10,138 units in October. During the same period, 10 412 electric cars of XPengs's. in September. In November, deliveries were:
- 7,839 P7 sedans, up 187% year-on-year;
- 2,154 P5 sedans delivered in September this year;
- 5,546 G3i SUVs, launched in July.
As of 30 November 2021, total Xpeng electric vehicle deliveries since the beginning of the year were 82,155.
