The US stock market on Tuesday
Tuesday's trading closed with gains in the oil and gas, commodities and consumer services sectors.
The Dow Jones rose 0.09%, the S&P 500 rose 0.15% and the NASDAQ Composite rose 0.52% at the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
The top gainers among Dow Jones index components in Tuesday's trading were Dow Inc (NYSE:DOW), which gained 1.20p (1.93%) to close at 63.26. Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) gained 7.11p (1.77%) to close at 63.26. (1.77%), ending trading at 408.56. Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT) gained 3.45p (1.65%) to close at 212.59.
Leading the fall was Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), which fell 2.22p (1.25%) to close at 212.59. (1.25%), ending the session at 175.39. Shares of Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT) climbed 1.55p (1.03%) to close at 148.90 and Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) dropped 2.84p (0.87%) to close at 324.90.
Leading the gains among the S&P 500 index components in Tuesday's trading were Best Buy Co Inc (NYSE:BBY), which gained 8.32% to 121.49, Wynn Resorts Limited (NASDAQ:WYNN), which gained 7.01% to close at 99.44, and Capri Holdings Ltd (NYSE:CPRI), which gained 6.15% to close the session at 60.55.
Leading the fall was shares of Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ:STX), which declined 6.10% to close at 86.07. Shares of Nielsen Holdings PLC (NYSE:NLSN) lost 3.50% to end the session at 21.80. Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) was down 3.10 percent to 48.38.
The top gainers among NASDAQ Composite index components in yesterday's trading were 111 Inc (NASDAQ:YI), which gained 30.62% to 8,020, CMI Acquisition LLC (NASDAQ:SKYT), which gained 30.35% to close at 26.84, and ENDRA Life Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:NDRA), which gained 26.25% to close the session at 2,020.
Theravance Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:TBPH) shares were the fallers, dropping 34.79% to close at 9.24. Shares of Omega Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:OMGA) lost 14.52% to end the session at 19.14. DatChat Inc (NASDAQ:DATS) was down 12.34% to 6.11.
On the New York Stock Exchange, 2,226 securities gained more than the 1,000 that closed negative and 137 were little changed. On NASDAQ, 2,340 companies gained, 1,215 declined and 148 remained flat at the previous close.
