Falling on the premarket
Oracle shares fell 5.1% on the New York Stock Exchange's premarket after Oracle predicted its earnings for the current quarter would be below expectations as it ramps up investment in its cloud computing business to outperform big rivals.
Roblox shares plunged 8%.
Shares in Kindred Biosciences rose 45% after the pet therapeutics company agreed a takeover by Elanco Animal Health for $9.25 per share, or $440 million.
Shares in furniture maker La-Z-Boy fell 3% due to disruptions in the global supply chain and problems with raw material and transportation costs.
Shares in H&R Block fell 3%, even as the company is preparing tax returns, reported quarterly results that were better than expected, plus including a dividend growth of around 4%. Its shares have risen by almost 60% since the beginning of the year.
Shares in SoFi Technologies, which deals with online primary finance, rose 2.2% as Rosenblatt gave the online banking and finance company a "buy" rating on shares, saying it has a large value advantage over traditional banks.
Carnival shares were up 0.8%. Also, Royal Caribbean shares were up 0.9% and Norwegian Cruise Line shares were up 1.3%.
Regeneron shares rose 0.1% after a UK study found that the drugmaker's COVID-19 antibody cocktail reduced mortality in patients who fail to produce their own immune response.
