Target and Amazon hold Prime Day sales

Sales for Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day 2021 is officially set for 21-22 June. Although the date is still a long way off, some discounts are available now. This is the first year of Prime Day in June. Historically, it has fallen in July, and last year it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Money Talks News writes about this.

Amazon already has early offers, as well as some promotions that can get you more money to spend on Prime Day.

Access to Prime Day is an exclusive privilege available only to Prime members. So hurry up and register and get access to the discounts.

What's available now

As usual, Amazon is starting Prime Day early with some offers.

Right now, the Fire TV is priced from $99.99. These are high-definition smart TV models, including the 24-inch Insignia ($99.99), the 32-inch Toshiba ($129.99) and the 43-inch Insignia ($219.99).

Prime members can also get four free months of Amazon Music Unlimited, Amazon's music streaming service. Even non-Prime members can get three months free.

If you've always wanted to try Audible, Prime members can save 53% for the first four months.

To find out more about the early deals, visit the official Amazon Prime Day webpage.

Discounts at Target

The Target shop chain was one of the first to announce that it will try to steal customers away from Amazon on Prime Day. The chain will host what it describes as the biggest online sale of the summer, Money Talks News writes.

The June 20-22 event will include an extra 24 hours of discounts compared to previous years. In addition, food and drink discounts will be included for the first time.

While Target is yet to reveal any details about the discounts, the company said, "Think of the hundreds of thousands of Target discounts and special, limited-time offers in all shopping categories, from electronics to essentials, toys, cosmetics, food and beverages".

Target even digs into Amazon a bit, promising discounts "with no waiting and no membership fees".

There's one deal you can get before the big event. From 16-19 June there will be a 5% discount on Digital Target gift cards.

This offer is only available online and you must be a member of the free Target Circle loyalty programme. There will be a $500 limit on discounted gift card purchases.
