This year has been hard on everyone, including New Yorkers who seem to be extra excited about upcoming holidays. It seems, they have had holiday fever ever since Halloween.
Greg Walsh, owner of five tree stands in Brooklyn and Manhattan reports he received first calls regarding Christmas trees as soon as November 5.
“They're not here yet, it won't last two months in your house!” Walsh answered.
Walsh’s stands had thousands of trees for sale, and he is usually busy right up until Christmas Day. This year, he is almost out of stock and forced to get more.
It seems that as the Big Apple citizens are in for home gatherings without big parties or caroling, Christmas trees are in much bigger demand this year.
However, for those who procrastinated it may be a challenge to find a merry-looking tree now that most stands are empty.
“Today is literally the first time I was thinking about getting one, and I just missed it,” said Shana Kimball of Greenpoint.
Other NY citizen, Inny Fasulo had better luck and managed to find a tree for her home celebration after visiting three other places.
