Tesla in Germany
The first Tesla plant in Europe was officially opened on Tuesday in Grünheide near Berlin. It is noted that customers received the first 30 cars produced there.
It should be mentioned that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Head of the Ministry of Economy Robert Habeck and the head of Tesla Elon Musk were present at the ceremony. The new factory will create 12 thousand jobs, Tesla plans to produce up to 500 thousand cars per year there.
Throughout the construction there have been continuous protests by environmental activists. Several protests took place even today.
Musk announced plans to build a new factory in November 2019. The new factory has been named Gigafactory 4. The new facilities in Europe will produce batteries, powertrains, and will also assemble the Tesla Model 3 sedan and the Tesla Model Y compact crossover.
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) shares opened at $930 today. Also, the company's 52-week high is US$1,243.49 and its 52-week low is US$546.98. Tesla has a market capitalisation of US$971.19 billion.
Elon Musk founded Tesla in 2003. However, the firm initially specialised only in making electric cars, but later became involved in building solar panels and other energy storage systems as well.
