Biography
Heather Hust Rivera is Senior Vice President, Communications for Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED).
Heather Hust Rivera leads the team responsible for developing and implementing strategic programs to drive the segment’s business objectives and build reputation through corporate communications, public relations, executive engagement, employee communications, business-to-business communications, and social responsibility.
Career
In this role, Heather oversees communications for all of DMED, including The Walt Disney Company’s streaming services – Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and the international general entertainment offering, Star+; linear television channels, including ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic; ABC owned-stations; advertising sales; Disney Music Group; content licensing and distribution; and theatrical film distribution.
Prior to joining DMED, she served as Vice President, Communications and Public Relations for Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing (CPGP). In that capacity, Heather led communications in support of the world’s largest licensing organization, Disney’s retail business, digital and mobile games, and Disney Publishing Worldwide. While at CPGP, she also led a Global DE&I Taskforce to reimagine Disney’s products and partnerships to expand their reach, relevance, and impact with communities around the world.
Heather has brought The Walt Disney Company’s compelling stories to life for consumers, employees, communities, partners, and shareholders for more than 15 years. In addition to DMED and CPGP, she worked in Corporate, leading the video, web, and social media teams for Disney’s corporate functions and held various publicity positions within Parks and Resorts.
Before joining Disney, Heather worked at the United States Mission to the United Nations supporting U.S. ambassadors’ implementation of foreign policy priorities and humanitarian objectives.
Education
Heather earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of California, Los Angeles and received an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
