Minimum Education/Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred OR Minimum two (2) years’ experience in building cleaning requires, with general building maintenance skills desirable. Must have knowledge of cleaning equipment and ability to interact with mental health consumers. Experience with mentally ill population preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Undergo background clearances prior to employment including fingerprinting with New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, State Central Registry (SCR) clearance, the Staff Exclusion List (SEL), and K-checks Exclusion Management.
• Ability to maintain clearances throughout the duration of employment.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.

Job Summary: Full-Time Porter for mental health residence located in the Bronx. Responsible for apartment suite cleanliness and maintenance, with specific focus on kitchens and bathrooms throughout the facility. Also responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of building common areas. Schedule Available: Sunday-Thursday, 12pm to 8pm.

Essential Functions: This position operates in an agency Residential Facility. The position requires entry into resident apartments and mechanical rooms. The position utilizes basic tools and cleaning products. The position requires the handling of chemicals and bio-hazardous materials, which may require the use of protective gear such as gloves, goggles, or Tyvek suits.

Rate of Pay: $16.85/hour
