Daren A. Luma is Lawyer and founder of Daren A. Luma, PLLC.

Career

Daren A. Luma has represented individuals and financial institutions, including international and boutique brokerage firms, investment advisers and hedge funds in litigation, arbitration proceedings, and regulatory matters for over 19 years. Daren has recovered tens of millions of dollars for hundreds of investor clients. Prior to starting Daren A. Luma, PLLC, Daren was a partner in a boutique law firm specializing in the handling financial industry matters between 2013-2018. Prior to that, Daren worked in Greenberg Traurig’s Broker-Dealer practice group between 2003 and 2013, representing clients in litigation, arbitration and regulatory proceedings before FINRA, SEC, CFTC, federal and state courts and state securities regulators. Between 2000 and 2003, Daren was an in house counsel for Merrill Lynch, handling customer complaints and arbitrations and other regulatory, compliance, operational and legal issues arising from firm’s private client business. Daren began his legal career as an assistant county attorney in the Westchester County Attorney’s office where he worked between 1997 and 2000. Daren is also a mediator who specializes in mediating commercial and financial services litigation and arbitration matters.

Education

Daren received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law and has a B.A. in Politics from Fairfield University. Daren is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.
