The US stock market on Friday
Trading ended Friday with gains in the oil and gas, commodities and financial sectors.
At the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones gained 0.69%, the S&P 500 index rose 0.88% and the NASDAQ Composite rose 1.23%.
The top gainers among Dow Jones index components in Friday trading were Dow Inc (NYSE:DOW) shares, which gained 1.73p (2.72%). (2.72%) to close at 65.38. Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) gained 5.25p (2.42%) to close at 65.38. (2.42%), closing at 221.75. The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) gained 3.58 pct (2.03%) to close at 180.14.
Leading the fall were shares of Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT), whose price fell 0.83p (0.56%) to close at 180.14. (0.56%), ending the session at 146.52. Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:CRM) shares were up 1.26p (0.47%) to close at 146.52. (0.47%) to close at 266.53, while Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:MRK) was down 0.27p. (0.35%) and ended trading at 76.30.
The top gainers among the S&P 500 index components in Friday trading were Helmerich and Payne Inc (NYSE:HP) which gained 9.92% to 27.80, Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) which gained 6.92% to close at 25.66 and Cimarex Energy Co (NYSE:XEC) which gained 6.42% to close the session at 63.70.
Leading the fall were shares of Dollar Tree Inc (NASDAQ:DLTR), which declined 2.77% to close at 90.89. AutoZone Inc (NYSE:AZO) shares lost 2.54% to close the session at 1,548.49. Advance Auto Parts Inc (NYSE:AAP) was down 2.43% to 203.74.
The top gainers among NASDAQ Composite index components in Friday trading were Vinco Ventures Inc (NASDAQ:BBIG), which gained 80.89% to 5,300, Gambling.com Group Ltd (NASDAQ:GAMB), which gained 66.82% to close at 14.18, and NeuroMetrix Inc (NASDAQ:NURO), which gained 65.10% to close the session at 16,460.
Leading the fall was Cassava Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:SAVA) shares, which declined 17.53% to close at 58.43. Shares of Pro-Dex Inc (NASDAQ:PDEX) lost 14.09% to end the session at 26.33. Siyata Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:SYTA) was down 11.75% to 3,680.
On the NYSE, 2,652 gained more than 568 lost ground, while 116 stocks were little changed. On NASDAQ, 2,731 companies gained, 773 declined and 138 remained flat at the previous close.
