Christopher Walken Unplugged
Christopher Walken’s charmingly unconventional ways have made him a Hollywood legend, and it turns out his approach to watching TV is just as unique.
The actor, who plays Burt Goodman, the head of optics and design in Apple TV+’s Severance, recently admitted that he hasn’t seen all the episodes of the hit series—and his reason might surprise you.
While promoting the second season on Andy Cohen Live, Walken was asked if he’d watched the entire first season. His answer? A humble, “Not all of them. I can’t. I don’t have the equipment.” He then explained, “So, they’re good enough to send me DVDs.”
This revelation prompted Andy Cohen to dig a little deeper, asking if Walken was subscribed to Apple TV+ or owned any streaming devices. The actor replied simply, “I don’t have anything.” The candid confession left Cohen laughing, saying, “I love you for that!”
Walken’s delightful old-school attitude adds another layer of intrigue to his character on Severance, a series filled with mystery and suspense. The Emmy-winning show returned last Friday with its season two premiere, nearly three years after its first season captivated audiences with its unsettling portrayal of workplace life at Lumon Industries.
According to series creator Dan Erickson, fans can expect even more twists and turns in the new season. “To me, it’s always about stacking the mysteries on top of each other,” Erickson told The Hollywood Reporter. “Every answer opens a new door, and there are new wonders to explore. I’m very conscious of not wanting to string people along without payoff, but I also believe in preserving the wonder of the story.”
As Walken prefers physical DVDs over digital streaming, it’s a reminder of the actor’s timeless charm. Meanwhile, fans of Severance can tune in weekly on Apple TV+ to uncover more secrets behind Lumon’s enigmatic walls.
