Moulton Sparks Trans Debate

Celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels delivered a sharp critique of the Democratic Party, responding to backlash against Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) for his remarks on transgender athletes in a recent New York Times interview. Michaels, speaking on Fox Friends, accused Democrats of alienating voters by shutting down internal debate.

"This is why your entire party got their butts kicked in the election," Michaels said, urging Moulton to stand firm. She argued that the party's handling of controversial issues, such as the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports, risks alienating moderate voters.

Moulton, a father of two daughters, had voiced concerns in the Times, stating: "I have two little girls. I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat, I’m supposed to be afraid to say that." His comments sparked backlash from party members, with some accusing him of betrayal and calling for his resignation.

Moulton defended his position during his Fox Friends appearance, emphasizing that Democrats have a strong track record of supporting transgender rights. However, he stressed the importance of open debate on nuanced issues. "When it comes to competitive sports, it’s reasonable to have restrictions. For some reason, we're not supposed to even entertain the idea, and I’m just saying, let’s have a debate."

Michaels echoed this sentiment, urging Democrats to rethink their approach. She criticized the party for "shaming" those who raise valid concerns and warned of long-term electoral consequences. By addressing internal tensions, she argued, Democrats could avoid further alienating voters who feel their voices are being dismissed.
