Warner Bros. has announced the highly anticipated sequel to Tim Burton's iconic horror comedy, Beetlejuice. Get ready for "It's showtime!" as Michael Keaton's Betelgeuse returns in Beetlejuice 2. The film features a talented cast of familiar and new faces.

Introducing the much-awaited Beetlejuice sequel, featuring renowned actors Willem Dafoe and Jenna Ortega. Dafoe brings his incredible talent to the role of a law enforcement officer in the afterlife, while Ortega takes on the captivating character of Lydia Deetz's daughter.

The talented lineup also includes Monica Bellucci as Beetlejuice's wife and the versatile Justin Theroux, with his character yet to be revealed. Michael Keaton will make a triumphant return as Beetlejuice, though plot details are being kept secret.

Producing Beetlejuice 2 is Brad Pitt's Plan B, and the screenplay is penned by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who previously collaborated with Burton on Netflix's Wednesday. Tim Burton himself will once again take the director's chair, marking his return following Disney's 2019 live-action movie Dumbo.

Burton has been nurturing the idea of a Beetlejuice sequel for quite some time now, initially considering a Hawaiian setting. Finally, last year, Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment and Warner Bros. teamed up to make the sequel a reality.

Variety reported in March of this year that Beetlejuice 2 is officially in the works and was scheduled to enter preproduction in May. Unfortunately, due to an ongoing writer's strike, preproduction had to be halted, and it remains uncertain when filming will resume.
