Spider-man at auction
A page of the Spider-Man comic book was sold for $3.36 million at a Heritage Auctions auction in Texas. It was announced on Friday by the British TV channel Sky News.
According to him, the illustration dates back to 1984. The artist, Mike Zeck, first depicted the popular comic book character in a black suit.
Joe Maddalena, vice president of the auction house, clarified to the TV channel that a highly accurate copy of the first issue of Superman was sold after the Spider-Man comic book page. The item went under the hammer for $3.18m.
According to the channel, Pokémon cards and comic books have been highly bid in recent auctions. "Collectors are buying their nostalgia," commented Maddalena on the trend.
