Heather Kane is the CEO of the Public Exchange Marketplace at UnitedHealthcare, based in the company’s Chicago office. Her organization is responsible for the development, growth and management of the company’s Individual Exchange and Small Business Health Options Program nationally. Heather has extensive experience in designing healthcare strategies, product innovation and business development.

Career

She joined UnitedHealthcare in 2003, and has since held a number of positions throughout the organization during her 12 year tenure, including Pharmacy, Product Development, Sales Operations and Clinical Solutions. Prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, she was a consultant with Diamond Technology Partners in New York, with an emphasis on growth strategies, business development, and technology solutions in the Financial Services and Investment industry.

Education

She holds an undergraduate degree in English literature from Hillsdale College and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. Heather currently sits on the board of the Gateway for Cancer Research, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative, patient-centered advancements in cancer treatment.
