Jerry’s Bravo Ambitions
Jerry O’Connell is looking forward to what’s next after saying goodbye to The Talk and he’s got his sights set on a glittering reality TV future.
The 50-year-old actor, who wrapped his hosting duties on the CBS talk show alongside co-hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, and Sheryl Underwood on December 20, is entertaining the idea of stepping into the world of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“Maybe I can be the first Real Househusband who’s a cast member,” O’Connell told Us Weekly. “I want a diamond! That would be really fun. I think I’d do a great job.”
While O’Connell may dream of joining Bravo’s elite, his wife, Rebecca Romijn, 52, remains unconvinced. Married since 2007, the couple shares twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, who O’Connell jokingly admitted wouldn’t deliver much drama for the cameras.
“They’re not vaping,” he quipped, adding with relief, “And, at least so I’m told, aren’t ‘getting with’ anybody, so that’s good.”
Despite their shared fandom of RHOBH, Romijn is hesitant to step into the spotlight. “We’re such fans of the franchise, [but] the truth is probably not,” Romijn shared in a past interview. “I feel like I would miss out on the gossip part of it. Or I guess they all gossip when they’re on the show, but I don’t like fighting.”
O’Connell, however, finds the allure of the Housewives’ husbands compelling. Reflecting on stars like Mauricio Umansky, Ken Todd, and PK Kemsley, he mused, “I wanna, like, hang out with those guys.”
Still, O’Connell acknowledges the potential downside of Bravo fame. After witnessing Lisa Rinna get booed at BravoCon last year, he admitted, “If I got booed at BravoCon, I would leave the country. I would be gone. I don’t know if I could handle it, but Lisa Rinna handles it really well.”
For now, it seems O’Connell’s Housewives dreams remain just that dreams. But as he charts his next steps, his mix of humor and self-awareness ensures he’s ready for whatever comes his way.
