Nostalgia and Romance: Brady Tales
In a delightful trip down memory lane, Barry Williams — now 69 — reflects on his time as Greg Brady, the eldest son in the iconic ABC sitcom The Brady Bunch. The show premiered 55 years ago, and to mark the occasion, Williams shared exclusive insights with Us Weekly about the bonds formed both on and off the set.
Williams revealed that the cast members didn’t just portray siblings; they were involved in real-life romantic entanglements. “We all hooked up with each other at some point,” he noted. “Not necessarily while we were filming.”
He reminisced about several flirtations, particularly among the younger cast. “I dated Maureen McCormick, and Chris Knight dated Eve Plumb. Michael Lookinland and Susan Olsen even had a little mock wedding,” he added, giving us a peek into the youthful dynamics behind the scenes.
Yet, it wasn’t just the kids who had crushes. Williams confessed to having a teenage crush on his TV mom, Florence Henderson. “I had a teenage crush on her, for sure,” he shared. He approached her about a date to a music venue, which became an unforgettable evening of conversation and connection.
Reflecting on their public outing, Williams recounted, “We were recognized, and people were whispering about us, which is strange.” Their conversation shifted from the music industry to personal aspirations, offering Williams a glimpse into his future.
As the evening drew to a close, Williams made a move: “I did go in for a little kiss, and she was nice enough to return it,” he recalled, adding, “So it was a highlight. Nice little peck, yes.”
This nostalgic reflection not only celebrates the show's legacy but also highlights the personal stories that intertwined with its success, reminding fans of the enduring connections forged in the heart of Hollywood.
