Blunt’s Iconic Return
Emily Blunt skyrocketed to fame with her role as the sharp-tongued assistant Emily in The Devil Wears Prada. While her performance earned widespread acclaim, her two daughters had a different perspective on her character.
“They thought I was the meanest person they’ve ever met,” Blunt shared with Page Six.
Blunt and her husband, actor John Krasinski, are parents to two daughters, Hazel and Violet. Despite her children’s critique, Blunt remains proud of the film and is continually amazed by its cultural impact. “It’s incredible that it has such an indelible fingerprint on people and it’s quoted to me every week,” she said.
The 2006 film, co-starring Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci, became an iconic piece of pop culture, and Blunt fondly recalls the joy of working on it, describing it as “the time of our lives.”
With news of a potential sequel in development, fans are eager to see Blunt reprise her role as Emily. The upcoming project, as reported by Entertainment Weekly, could reunite the original cast and crew, including Streep, Hathaway, Tucci, and director David Frankel. The sequel may explore how the fashion world has evolved, with Blunt's character reportedly working for a luxury brand that collaborates with Runway magazine.
As audiences await more details, The Devil Wears Prada continues to hold its place as a beloved and quotable film, a testament to its lasting influence on both fashion and cinema.
