The Walking Dead cast reunited at the 2023 AMC Networks UpFronts event in New York City to celebrate the upcoming spin-off shows. Fan-favorites Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan attended the star-studded function.

Three spin-off shows are set to premiere in 2023 and 2024, including one centered on Morgan's villainous character Negan. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will focus on the eponymous character's journey back home. Cohan and Morgan will appear in The Walking Dead: Dead City, where their respective characters head to Manhattan to rescue Maggie's son Hershel. Lincoln and Gurira are set to reprise their past roles as Rick and Michonne in an untitled show centered on their characters.
Scott M. Gimple, the former showrunner of The Walking Dead, recently shared insights on the development process for the upcoming project. "We're deeply involved in the project and work on it every day," he stated.
