The Company offers precision plain, roller, cam followers, couplings, collars, locking, tool holders, shafts, pins, rods, tubes, and ball bearings. RBC Bearings serves industrial, aerospace, and defense markets worldwide. RBC Bearings operates 35 plants with 3500 employees in four countries.
History and acquisitions
RBC Bearings Inc (Roller Bearing Company of America) was founded in 1919. In 1992, RBC acquired Transport Dynamics (founded in 1955) located in southern California. In 1993, Heim® Bearings also became part of the RBC family. Then in 2000, Schaublin SA based in Delémont, Switzerland were acquired as well.
The former Torrington "Standard" Plant was acquired in December, 2003.
The RBC Bearings initial public offering (IPO) was effective on August 9, 2005, and closed on August 15, 2005.
A.I.D. Company, Clayton, Georgia which was a manufacturer of precision aerospace swaged tubes and push-pull rods had its assets scquired by RBC in 2008.
RBC acquired the Sargent Aerospace & Defense business ("Sargent") of Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV) for $500 million in 2015. RBC is headquartered in Oxford, CT.[
