Blade Delays, X-Men Hints

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently provided intriguing updates on several key MCU projects, teasing new developments at D23 Brazil, where new trailers for Thunderbolts and Captain America: Brave New World were also unveiled.

Feige began with the much-discussed Blade film, which has faced numerous delays. Originally slated for release in November 2025, the project has now been pushed to an undisclosed date due to behind-the-scenes turbulence. Director Yann Demange’s recent exit followed Bassam Tariq's departure earlier, leaving fans wondering when the film will finally materialize. Mahershala Ali remains attached to star as the vampire hunter, and Feige reassured fans, stating, “We’re committed to Blade. We love the character, we love Mahershala's version of him.” While the film’s release remains uncertain, Feige affirmed, “the character will be coming to the MCU.”

Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff didn’t appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, disappointing fans. While Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hinted at an ending for her, Olsen is open to returning if it suits the story. Marvel’s Kevin Feige teased fans, saying, “We’re excited to see when and how the Scarlet Witch might return.”

Regarding Miles Morales, Feige was more direct, confirming that following the release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the beloved hero will make his way into the live-action MCU. Feige stated, “I hope that, shortly after that, he can enter the MCU in live-action.” With the release of the third Spider-Verse film still pending, fans may have to wait until 2027 for Morales to swing onto the big screen.

Feige hinted at the X-Men's future in the MCU post-Secret Wars, confirming, “The X-Men are an important part of that future.” With three untitled films on Marvel's 2028 schedule, fans may finally see the mutants make their MCU debut.

As fans eagerly anticipate these developments, Marvel has a busy few years ahead, with major releases slated for 2025, including Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and a slew of TV shows, alongside the Phase 6 debut of Fantastic Four: First Steps. Feige’s updates give us plenty to look forward to—though, as always, patience will be key.
