Sunny Hostin’s Funyun Obsession and More
Sunny Hostin, co-host of The View, has a special place in her heart for many meals and snacks. At 55, she can’t resist a bag of Funyuns, much to the amusement of her cohosts. Hostin reveals: “My cohosts at The View make fun of me, but I eat Funyuns.” She even pairs them with hot sauce, earning curious glances from Ana Navarro.
Beyond her love for Funyuns, Hostin cherishes her mom’s authentic Puerto Rican dishes, like orzo con calamari and alcapurrias. “It’s made with yuca and it’s, like, a fritter and it can have anything inside,” she explains. Her mom still makes these dishes for her birthday.
Sunny also reminisces about her early dates with her husband, Emmanuel Hostin. They would enjoy margaritas and Mexican food on Fridays, exploring every Mexican restaurant around them. “We were both kind of public servants [who] didn’t make a lot of money, but there would be Taco Tuesdays, not Taco Fridays,” she says.
If she had to choose one final meal, it would be a lobster roll from Nancy’s Restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard. “I would probably eat about four of them when I’m on the Vineyard,” she reflects. This meal pairs perfectly with her new Ama’s Blend rosé, a wine she created while writing her Summer on the Bluffs novel series. The wine, named after the book’s main character, features her own handwriting on the label and a special message to customers.
Sunny’s Ama’s Blend rosé, priced at $30, is now available on her website.
