Acceptance Speeches
During her emotional acceptance speech, Reid expressed, “I’m such a mess. 30 seconds is just not enough time!” She thanked her team, family, and friends, giving a special shoutout to her mother. “This is proof you can do anything. I’m just a young girl from Atlanta, Georgia,” she concluded, receiving thunderous applause. This victory marked Reid’s inaugural win and nomination.
In his acceptance speech, Offerman reflected on his triumph, noting, “Fortune presents gifts not according to the book.” He acknowledged his co-nominee, Murray Bartlett, for their collaboration in “The Last of Us‘ breakout episode.” Offerman expressed gratitude to his wife, Megan Mullally, and credited showrunner Craig Mazin, stating, “We would not be doing anything but standing around if Craig Mazin hadn’t written the most beautiful script I’ve ever been handed.” This win marked Offerman’s first Emmy, following four nominations.
The Last of Us at the Emmys
“The Last of Us” secured an impressive 24 nominations at this year’s Emmys, including outstanding drama series and recognition for stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
