Verizon Media is a subsidiary of Verizon Communications and Apollo Global Management, serving as the umbrella brand for its digital content divisions, which include AOL and Yahoo! acquired in 2015 and 2016. Until 1 January 2019, it was named Oath Inc. Until May 4, 2021, called Verizon Media.

The company has dual headquarters in Manhattan, New York, and Sunnyvale, California, where AOL and Yahoo previously had headquarters Oath has offices in the US as well as in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and the UK. Former AOL CEO Tim Armstrong was given a similar post at the new company. By the time the company emerged, it employed 12,000 people.
