Description
The New York Farm Bureau's mission is to "Support today's agricultural needs and create opportunities for future members through advocacy and training."
NYFB's vision for the future is "The Voice of New York Agriculture that unites a diverse farming community and builds a stronger food system and rural economy."
The Farm Bureau is a non-governmental volunteer organization funded and controlled by family members to address the economic and government challenges facing the agricultural industry.
The “grass-roots” policy development process The Farm Bureau continues to ensure that the organization represents a majority of its members. Policy development begins at the county level with the identification of problems and culminates in an annual meeting of the New York Farmers Bureau that makes decisions about the problems.
The Office's success in implementing the policy depends on an active and well-informed membership, guided by the efforts of many dedicated volunteer leaders.
