Julie Whalen is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Williams-Sonoma, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing all global financial departments including controllership, corporate financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, investor relations, risk management and internal audit and has shared accountability of the brand finance functions.

Career

Whalen joined WSI in 2001 as a leader in the Corporate Financial Planning organization and has since progressed through positions of increasing responsibility from Vice President, Corporate Controller to Senior Vice President and Treasurer, and was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2012.

She has more than 23 years of financial experience and a track record of driving financial success in a global retail environment across multiple brands and channels.

Whalen began her career in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick.

Education

Whalen is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both a B.S. and a law degree from Pepperdine University. She also currently serves as a director of Expedia Group, Inc.
