The film The Green Book (2018) is the true story of Frank's father Tony Leape, who went on tour in the segregated south in the early 1960s with pianist Don Shirley. The Green Book was written by Frank's brother Nick Vallelonga, Peter Farrelly and Brian Hayes Curry. The film stars Viggo Mortensen as Tony Lip, Mahershala Ali as Donald Shirley and Linda Cardellini as Frank's mother, Dolores. Director Peter Farrelly has cast real-life family members for roles in the film. Frank plays Rudy, Tony Lip's brother. The real Rodolfo Vallelonga plays his and Tony's father, Nicola, and Frank's uncle, Lou Venere, plays his and Dolores' father, Anthony. Tony Lip became an actor and is known for his role as New York crime boss Carmine Lupartazzi in the HBO series The Sopranos.
