Career
Flock has covered some of the most historic hurricanes, recently reporting in the eye and aftermath of the category 4 Hurricane Laura’s impact on Louisiana, and previous reporting on the ground from Hurricanes Dorian, a category 5 storm, and hurricanes Florence, Michael, and Harvey, which were all category 4 storms.
While at FBN, Flock has also covered major industry events around the country, including the Detroit Auto Show, the Commodity Trading Pit, and the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Airshow. Some of his coverage has featured interviews with industry titans such as Ford CEO Mark Fields, Ford Executive Vice President Joe Hinrichs, General Motors CEO Mary Barra, among many others.
Previously, Flock the Managed Edited and Anchored of Hurricane Now, LLC, a website that majored in hurricane coverage in the United States. Beginning in 1980 when he aided to launch the network and its first newscast where he spent 24 years at CNN.
In 2004, he ended his last 19 years at CNN where he served as the Chicago Bureau Chief and correspondent, thus managing coverage of the Midwestern region and helping report on some of this nation’s most compelling stories.
Throughout his career, he has won several awards for his work here, including a George Foster Peabody Award for the network’s coverage of the Gulf War, and an Emmy in 1996 for coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing.
