Biography
Edwin N. Conway, Senior Managing Director, is Global Head of BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) and a member of BlackRock's Global Executive Committee.
Career
Mr. Conway is responsible for BlackRock’s alternatives strategy and the delivery of the firm’s investment capabilities across Real Estate, Infrastructure, Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Credit to institutional and retail clients. As Global Head of BAI, Mr. Conway chairs the BAI Executive Committee and is responsible for determining the overall strategic direction of BlackRock’s Alternatives platform and providing day-to-day oversight of BAI in all regions.
Prior to taking on his current responsibilities in April 2019, Mr. Conway was Global Head of BlackRock’s Institutional Client Business (ICB), responsible for BlackRock's institutional client strategy and the delivery of its entire investment capabilities to the global institutional client community, including sovereign wealth funds, public and private pension plans, foundations, endowments and industry consultants. As Global Head of ICB he was Chairman of the Global Institutional Executive Committee and oversaw the Global Institutional Product Group (IPG), responsible for BlackRock's investment product strategy, as well as Global Consultant Relations (GCR), BlackRock Alterative Specialists (BAS) and BlackRock's Global Financial Institutions Group (FIG).
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2011, Mr. Conway was a Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group where he headed the Global Investor Relations & Business Development Group. Before joining Blackstone in 2005, Mr. Conway was an Executive Director at Arden Asset Management, Inc. and prior to that he was a Director at Credit Suisse Asset Management located both in London and New York.
