Entrepreneur's Day
National Entrepreneur's Day, observed each year on the third Tuesday in November in the U.S., shines a spotlight on the visionary minds and tenacious spirit of entrepreneurs whose innovations fuel economic growth and job creation. This day celebrates the resilience and creativity of business founders and changemakers who push industries forward and ignite progress. It also serves as a reminder of the essential role entrepreneurs play in pioneering new ideas, shaping communities, and opening doors to future opportunities.
About the holiday
Brief History
National Entrepreneur’s Day was created in 2010 by visionary entrepreneurs David Hauser, Siamak Taghaddos, co-founders of Grasshopper, along with Amir Tehrani, in collaboration with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Their mission was to recognize and celebrate the contributions of entrepreneurs while shining a spotlight on the critical role that small businesses and startups play in economic growth. This initiative was also intended to inspire future entrepreneurs and foster greater support for those daring to launch new ventures. Fittingly, this day aligns with Global Entrepreneurship Week, extending its reach to celebrate and support entrepreneurs worldwide.
How It’s Celebrated
On National Entrepreneur’s Day, many businesses and individuals participate in activities that promote and support entrepreneurship. Schools and organizations hold events, workshops, and discussions to encourage entrepreneurial thinking and provide resources for aspiring founders. Social media platforms fill up with posts celebrating successful entrepreneurs and their stories, and networking events bring together business professionals. It’s also a popular day for investors and established entrepreneurs to mentor new business owners.
