Higher Education Day

Higher Education Day

The inaugural National Higher Education Day took place in 2015, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Izamar Olaguez and Marcie Hronis. This day was established to motivate students to pursue higher education and to raise awareness about the need for more affordable college options. Although the day itself is relatively recent, its roots trace back over 50 years to the passage of the National Higher Education Act of 1965. This landmark legislation aimed to increase college accessibility by providing financial support and various programs for students. The founders of National Higher Education Day envision a future where every student in the U.S. is fully prepared for college, both academically and financially.
