José worked at Emergent BioSolutions and its predecessor BioPort Corporation for over a decade, prior to IDT, where he held several positions of increasing responsibility. José served as general counsel at BioPort, East West Resources Corporation, BellSouth International (now AT&T), Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps and Arent Fox.

He earned his juris doctor and bachelor of arts, with distinction, from the University of Virginia.
