On November 4, there is a holiday in Dominica. It is called Community Service Day. It is the day after the Independence Day. Dominica became independent from the UK on November 3, 1978. It is an island in the Caribbean. On the day after Dominica becomes independent, the streets are dirty. The government decided to have a day to clean the streets. Everyone helps to clean the roads and the cities. People of all ages help. It is not a holiday for everyone, but a special day. The government gives bags, flowers and plants for the clean up. They also give money for new gloves for the people who clean the streets. The government gives money to groups that want to do projects to make the country better.
