Brief History

The International Pharmaceutical Federation made World Pharmacists Day. The council voted to have the day at a conference in Istanbul, Turkey in the late 2000s. The day is to make people know about pharmacies and how they help people. FIP wants everyone to take part in the day to make it a success. World Pharmacists Day is on September 25. It is the anniversary of when the International Pharmaceutical Federation started in 1912. Since 2009, it has been celebrated every year. FIP also has World Pharmacy Week. This is to help people know more about pharmacists and medicines. FIP wants to make pharmacy better all over the world. World Pharmacists Day helps to do this. Every year, FIP chooses a new topic for the day. People and organizations can do things to show how they help people's health.
