Fines for vaccine fraud
Authorities in the US state of New York will levy a fine of up to one million dollars for fraud related to coronavirus vaccines. This was announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo, who assured that he would sign the decree within 24 hours.
He stressed that he would not tolerate any fraud. Andrew Cuomo said: "All those involved in the fraud will be prosecuted".
Also, Cuomo said that if a medical institution or an individual professional is found guilty of such fraud, state authorities will impose a fine of up to one million dollars. It should be noted that violators will also lose all their licenses.
Recall that the New York State Police have launched an investigation into a network of medical facilities for allegedly fraudulently obtaining the coronavirus vaccine and offering it to individuals.
Earlier, the country's chief infectious disease officer, Anthony Fauci said that the coronavirus situation in the US could worsen after the holidays. He also said that the country would face a post-season (after Christmas and New Year) surge. Fauci also noted that population immunity could be achieved if 80-85% of the population were resistant to the virus, although a figure of 70% was previously reported.
