A massive pre-flight inventory of the Boeing 737 MAX began after aviation regulators last week lifted a 20-month ban on the liner's flights to the USA. The 737 MAX is an updated version of the Boeing Jet Passenger Airliner that was put into service in the 1960s. In the United States, commercial flights of the liner are due to resume on 29 December.
Almost 700 workers will have to check the liners in Washington State within a few weeks, Reuters reports. The inventory includes 450 airliners, which are on the balance sheet of Boeing Corporation itself, and 387 aircraft owned by US airlines. The 737 MAX aircraft are arriving to maintain and update flight management software and systems, as prescribed by the regulatory body, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). According to specialists, it will take approximately two weeks for each aircraft to be prepared for flight, taking into account maintenance and software updates.
Earlier, the agency said that Boeing had to meet a number of conditions before it could start transporting passengers.
