So when is Cyber Monday and what is it?
November 30 of this year is Cyber Monday. This is the first Monday after Black Friday and Thanksgiving day. Cyber Monday officially kicks off three days after Black Friday. The pandemic has left an imprint on many familiar aspects of life, and now people prefer online shopping, which allows not to contact a huge number of people, as well as significantly save on the cost of goods. Cyber Monday is a relatively young emergence that was originally a competitor to Black Friday, which is aimed at in-store and retail purchases. In the past, Cyber Monday was designed to buy more tech goods and become an alternative to "crowds of people running around the building in time to grab the goods." But gradually the boundaries began to blur, and at the current moment Cyber Monday is a pleasant and more desirable continuation of Black Friday.
This year, the segments of goods that are preferred by buyers have changed: technology and home will be the main spending.
"The virus has changed us and changed the choice of goods on which we are ready to spend our money. Now these are tangible things related to a healthy lifestyle; learning, entertainment and work from home" - explained Marshall Cohen, Chief Industry Advisor at NPD Group.
Cyber Monday outperforms Black Friday in sales revenue and customer spend. This is in part because there is a product comparison function available to shoppers and there are weekends that allow you to browse and select at a relaxed pace.
Cyber Monday 2020 is one of the most anticipated days this year and more than 53 percent plan to shop online.
Below are some examples of the most popular articles that will receive Cyber Monday concessions:
