Booster vaccines

CVS and Walgreens pharmacies across the country are administering Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine boosters to millions of eligible Americans who are most at risk of contracting the virus.

About 6,000 CVS pharmacies and MinuteClinic across the country began giving booster shots Friday to seniors, people with co-morbidities and those most "at increased risk for COVID-19 infection.

CVS chief medical officer Troyen Brennan said: "We have the expertise and infrastructure to play a leading role in delivering booster vaccinations to a suitable population."

Similarly, Walgreen's pharmacies across the country are also equipped with Pfizer's COVID-19 booster vaccines and allow customers to book flu vaccines and booster vaccines during a single appointment.

So far, only Americans over the age of 65 and those who are at risk due to the underlying illness or their place of work or residence are eligible for vaccination. You can get vaccinated if you have already been vaccinated 6 months after the last dose. Walgreens has revealed that it offers rennet to residents over 65, 18, and 18 years of age.

According to CVS, people are at high risk of covid-19 severity due to certain underlying diseases. It also leads to an increase in people aged 18-49 and 50-64 years with the underlying disease.

On the other hand, both pharmacy chains say they can also vaccinate people aged 18-64 who are at high risk of covid-19 infection or transmission due to occupational or institutional circumstances, including healthcare workers and key employees.

CVS "strongly" encourages patients who want the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster vaccine or want to complete their initial vaccination series to make an appointment online at CVS.com or MinuteClinic.com.

Walgreens also asks customers to schedule their COVID-19 vaccination online or by phone.

It is also noted that any new Walgreens patient who wishes to be re-vaccinated will be asked to confirm eligibility for the appointment and at the time of the appointment.
