Attack on JBS company

Specialists at meat processing company JBS are successfully dealing with the aftermath of the cyber-attack and most of its facilities will be operational on Wednesday. This was said in a statement released on Tuesday by the head of the company, Andre Nogueira.

According to Nogueira, "significant progress" has been made in dealing with the aftermath of the cyber attack. He said: "Our systems are back up and running and we will spare no resources to counter this threat". "We have cybersecurity plans in place to deal with such issues and we are successfully implementing them", he added. "In light of the progress made within 24 hours by our information technology specialists and factory staff, the vast majority of our beef, pork, poultry and semi-finished meat processing plants will be operational on Wednesday", the JBS executive explained.

The statement noted that the cyber attack had no impact on JBS' operations in Mexico and the UK. "The company also continues to successfully restart operations in the US and Australia. Several of the company's pork, poultry and semi-finished meat processing facilities were operational on Tuesday and its Canadian beef processing facility resumed production", the document said.

Nogueira said JBS had received strong support from the US, Australian and Canadian authorities. The statement said there was no evidence of hackers obtaining the details of its customers, suppliers or employees.

JBS said on Monday that the computer networks of its North American and Australian operations were hit by a cyberattack on Sunday.
