LVMH's chief digital officer, Ian Rogers, is leaving the company for a French fintech startup called Ledger. The Ledger startup was founded in 2013 and operates in the IT technology market, in particular, selling products that help protect users of cryptocurrencies and their digital wallets. Simply put, the company produces and sells a hardware crypto wallet with an increased level of data protection.
The activities of the new Director Ledger by experience will be aimed at expanding and popularizing the ownership of cryptocurrencies, and scaling the business. It is no secret that most investors see cryptocurrency as a way to save funds from inflation, which gave impetus to the development and improvement of trading platforms, making it easier to access bitcoins.
Since the inception of the company, more than 85 million venture investments have been raised and more than 2 million digital wallets have been sold. Part of the product's sales came to retail consumers, but in 2018 the product began selling to investment funds.
The valuation of the company's assets for 2018 has not yet been disclosed.
Ledger plans to increase its staff and turnover next year.
