Vivienne Jolie-Pitt No More
Vivienne Jolie, the adolescent progeny of renowned actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, seems to have embraced a fresh alias, discarding the “Pitt” from her surname. In the playbill for the novel musical “The Outsiders,” Vivienne is acknowledged solely as “Vivienne Jolie,” as verified by PEOPLE.
The legal status of this alteration remains uncertain, yet it signifies a notable shift in public perception. Spokespersons for Jolie and Pitt were unreachable for a statement.
This isn’t the inaugural occurrence of a surname modification within the Jolie-Pitt offspring. Previously in November, Zahara, the eldest daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, presented herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” at a sorority event at Spelman College, as chronicled by Essence.
These transformations in surnames are transpiring amidst continuous news of a tense relationship between Brad Pitt and his offspring, a circumstance that has persisted since Jolie petitioned for divorce and requested exclusive guardianship of their six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox — in 2016.
In spite of hurdles, an insider close to Brad Pitt disclosed to PEOPLE in August 2022 that the actor, aged 60, remains optimistic about mending ties with his children. Despite the marital dissolution, Pitt has been committed to enhancing their relationship, although it’s been challenging, often enduring extended intervals without their presence.
Recent legal documents related to their French property dispute suggest that Jolie allegedly influenced the children to avoid Pitt. This follows Jolie’s earlier accusations of Pitt’s misconduct, leading to their 2016 divorce filing.
In her first stage role, Vivienne Jolie worked with her mother on the Broadway adaptation of “The Outsiders.” Angelina Jolie shared that Vivienne’s passion for theater inspired her involvement in the project. Vivienne, a promising artist, has gained invaluable experience from the creative team.
Upon announcing her participation in August 2023, Jolie conveyed her enthusiasm about teaming up with her daughter. “This marks my initial foray into theatrical production, and having Vivienne alongside has rendered it extraordinarily unique,” she remarked. “Her zeal for the arts is genuinely invigorating.”
